Starbucks got one SHOTS in the dark with their new policy, and is legume working
The coffee giant has moved to rebuild their stores as classic coffee for communities to “sit and stay” – and is being repaid, according to the numbers divided with axios.
At the end of January, Starbucks implemented a new recharge policy, where customers ordering in the store should say whether they would like their “here” or “go”.
Those who order “for here” get their drink served in a ceramic mug, glass or personal cup. These people are able to get free recharges while visiting their produced or icy coffee, or hot or icy tea.
Starbucks revealed to Axios that over the past three weeks, “the number of customers choosing mugs and ceramic glasses to sit and stay in the cafe has increased on average by more than 3x in SH.BA”
Customers should have their first drink served in one of these reusable cups in order to get free recharge, and no disposable ship or plastic can get free recharge – which is encouraging some customers to stay some time.
New Director General Brian Niccol – who took over the leader in September – said at the annual shareholder meeting of the company last week that he was “satisfied with the early reaction to the changes we made from both clients and partners”.
These changes come as Starbucks hopes to increase foot traffic and sales as part of its “Back to Starbucks” initiative, a plan to simplify offers and return to its roots.
The company is “relying on our coffee culture,” said Tresie Lieberman, chief of the Global Starbucks brand, told Axio.
“We are restoring Starbucks like coffee in the community and by restoring Starbucks in the world,” Lieberman added.
The coffee giant is aiming to expand their extension by investing in TV ads and transmitting that they will “arouse the feeling that” I want to go to Starbucks “.
Starbucks has already begun to test new models in selected places, too, restoring “upholstery and more comfortable spaces”, further giving stores an old school vibe, where customers can sit for hours resting or doing distance work.
New models include “enlarged landing options, energy outputs and abundant food display”, as well as some places with “more division between cafe and mobile order experience,” Axios found.
Niccol has made a lot of changes in the well -known coffee chain since he came on board from the chipotle.
When he began, he noted that one of his advantages to accelerate growth in the company is to simplify the “extremely complex” menu so that the herbivores can speed up the service with a purpose to cut “approximately 30%” of food and drink options from its menu by the end of the month.
The company also recently shared that users in the Starbucks app and website will no longer be able to make certain modifications because these changes are included in drinks that already exist in the menu.
There have been some other policy changes since Niccol took over, including the boundaries of digital orders, turning the air conditioner rods, changing open -door policies, with baristas writing in glasses with charpies and bringing back chairs back to some of its stores.
