Ob/Gyn explains the symptoms of menopause ‘out of control’ Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow is considered a pillar of health in the Wellness community – which has made it the subject of contempt in the past, as critics consider it “unreliable” and its “inaccessible” goals for the average person.

But the well -known actress and entrepreneur opened for her wars with something that every woman has to go through – menopause – in an episode of March 4 of Goop’s Podcast.

“I’m really in its thickness now, so I’m all over the country,” said Paltrow, 52, for her symptoms.

“I would just wake up [and] I would be crushed by anxiety, which I have never had in my life, ”she said.

“And I would lie down in bed thinking about every mistake I have ever made, the feelings of every person I have ever hurt, like any evil, you know, and I would be standing, as, for six hours. It was crazy.”

She noted that her symptoms had been “well under control” – until the devastating fires of LA occurred in January, which is when she began to use “alcohol for her purpose”.

“I think I’ve drank every night,” she said. “I was treating. Normally, now at this point, I don’t drink much. Maybe I will drink a drink per week. ”

Drinking every night, on the other hand, exacerbated its symptoms in a way that was impossible to ignore.

“My symptoms were completely out of control,” she said. “It was the first time I really noticed, like the cause in that way.”

Dr. Kuba Gaithler, Director of Mother’s Perinatal Services/Medicine at NYC Health, told the post that “alcohol consumption can affect the symptoms of menopause in some ways, but its effects can vary greatly on women.”

This, saying, she described some of the ways of drinking alcohol can usually affect menopause symptoms.

Stronger heat

Gaither noted that some women can undergo heavier hot ignitions if they drink, because “alcohol can dilute blood vessels, which can lead to increased ignition and disturbances.”

Interruption of sleep

While drinking your favorite Chardonnay can make you sleepy, ultimately can grab with your sleep cycle by encouraging you to wake up in the middle of the night – which over time can make you develop insomnia.

“Since sleep disturbances are common during menopause, this can worsen” if you drink, Gaither said.

Changes in the mood

While alcohol can make you feel better at the moment, it can also lead to even higher levels of anxiety the next day.

“While some women can use it to relieve stress, severe consumption can lead to increased anxiety and depression, which can worsen during menopause,” she said.

Bone health

Long -term alcohol consumption can have a negative impact on bone density and make you weaker.

“Since women are at an increased risk of osteoporosis during and after menopause, excessive alcohol intake can pose an increased risk of bone loss,” she said.

Gaining

This is probably quite clear, but Gaither stressed that because alcohol is “dense calorie, weight gain can be disturbing during menopause due to hormonal changes”.

Don’t worry – it’s not all bad news.

When it comes to drinking alcohol, Gaither admitted that not everyone must necessarily go to the cold turkey.

“Moderation is the key,” she said. “For some women, moderate alcohol consumption may not have significant adverse effects, while for others it may exacerbate the symptoms.”

She suggests talking to your doctor about the subject if you have any concerns.
