Shocking amount of time each cans of soda is shortening from your longevity

It is a difficult day for thousands of people who collectively hit a soft drink when the clock strikes 3pm, because – shock, horror – it turns out that they are not actually so good for you.

Your emotional support coke can be shaving years from your life, according to a study which found that you can lose 12 minutes whenever you reach your favorite sweet drink.

Researchers at the University of Michigan compiled a list of 5,800 foods based on their effects on longevity, taking into account things such as additives, fats, calories and sugar content.

They appreciated the health impact of a gram of a particular food and then adjusted it to a standard service size to create a health nutrient index.

Non -alcoholic drinks shave 12 minutes away from life

They found that every hot dog consumed costs a person 36 minutes of “healthy” life.

This high risk is due to their preservatives and nitrates, which are added compounds in food that improve the aroma, color and structure – and have been associated with certain cancers.

They also considered other risk factors such as sodium and trans fatty acids found in hot dogs.

Sweet sugary drinks, such as Coca Cola and Mountain Dew, can shorten life for 12 minutes, bacon for six minutes, and a double decoration of cheese just less than nine minutes.

The chicken wings go down three minutes and 30 seconds, while the curated meat, like prosciutto, can cost you 24 minutes.

The research also found that even a cheese service can take over a minute from a healthy life expectancy.

Good news

Thankfully, there are not all punishments and darkness.

The study also showed that you can add minutes to your life by consuming healthier foods.

For example, a banana was found to contribute 13 and a half minutes to life, a piece of baked salmon, 16 minutes and 30 grams of nuts can extend your life for 26 minutes.

By exchanging only 10 percent of daily calories from beef and processed meat for fruits, tools, legumes and nuts, you can potentially add 48 minutes to your life, according to the study.

“The emergency of dietary changes to improve human health … is clear,” said Dr. Olivier Joliet, the researcher after studying, as reported by the conversation.

“Our findings demonstrate that small, targeted substitutions offer a potential and powerful strategy to achieve significant health and environmental benefits without the need for dramatic dietary shifts.”

Environmental factors were also studied

The study also examined the environmental impact of foods, including production, processing and production, and marked them accordingly.

Foods were classified into three colored areas: green, yellow and red, based on their combined nutritional and environmental shows.

Green zone foods, recommended for growth in one’s diet, included nuts, fruits, whole grains, vegetables and some seafood.

Red zone foods consisted of processed meat, especially beef, pork, lamb and other processed meat.

One restriction of the study is that data does not differ within the same food group, such as the health benefits of a watermelon against an apple, or Coca Cola versus sprite.
