The couple organized false proposals to get free drinks – not everyone thought it was cute

She said “yes” – but people were not so happy for the couple.

One woman posted a video on X revealing that she and her husband attracted a stunt to a restaurant that has sparked a fiery online debate.

“My fake husband proposed to take us for free drinks last night,” Jaela Bumpas described the video with a smiling emoji.

The video, taken from a viewer, showed Bumpas’s husband entering a knee and appearing to propose to her inside the Moana Surfrider resort in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Other restaurant customers were applauding and cheering as the man grabbed his wife and waved him around and kissed him.

No one else at dinner was aware of fraud. However, after the woman left the truth on social media, she quickly went viral with more than 38.2 million views and 462,000 likes.

People were separated whether the stunt was appropriate or not cruel.

“You steal from the restaurant where you were, you are proud enough to do so to post it on X, and 347,000 people liked the post. Sad comments on many levels,” one person wrote.

“I consider that theft,” someone said.

“Fraud of people is not the victory you think it is,” commented another.

“People like this will destroy sweet gestures like this to all genuine people,” someone else said.

Other people were more on board with the idea.

“Lmaooo I love when people with the same sense of humor date,” said one user.

“Technically not a trick because you got married,” someone said.

“Before you start judging everyone. Have you ever forgiven a birthday to get free dessert?” Another question.

“May God keep a man fun and enjoy a sweet treatment through his wrong schemes,” one wrote.

One person in response asked him if she was in operation, to whom Bumpas replied, “Yes” – but she told today.com it was not the restaurant that gave them free drinks, but rather a defender who treated them with margaritas.

Bumpas also told the exit that he reached a point where comments took a dark turn.

“A lot of people were achieved, who felt good, but then it was also a disappointing experience because of racism,” Bumpas said today. “€” made me want to delete tweet many times because it started to become more racist.
